This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of food additive Allura Red. This standard applies to dyes obtained by coupling 4-amino-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzenesulfonic acid with 6-hydroxy-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid sodium after diazo. This product can be added to food as a coloring agent.
