- This standard specifies the method for identifying the crystal morphology and chemical composition of authigenic clay minerals in sedimentary rocks using scanning electron microscopes and X-ray energy spectrometers. This standard is mainly applicable to the identification and analysis of common authigenic clay minerals in petroleum geological sedimentary rocks. The identification and analysis of other authigenic clay minerals can be carried out by reference.
