Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, marking, transportation and storage of dental cast precious metal alloys with a precious metal content of not less than 25%. This standard applies to cast precious metal alloys for the manufacture of dental restorations and devices. This standard does not apply to the base material of dental ceramic fused metal restorations.
