- This standard specifies the method for measuring the linear density of textile fibers with a vibrating instrument. This standard applies to fibers that are easy to remove crimps, especially chemical fibers. This standard does not apply to hollow fibers or flat fibers. For high modulus fibers and fibers with a high cross-sectional profile, the use of this method should obtain the consent of all interested parties.
