This standard specifies the methods for the determination of diffusible hydrogen content in deposited metals by glycerin displacement method, gas chromatography and mercury displacement method. When the diffusible hydrogen content in the deposited metal measured by the glycerol replacement method is less than 2mL/100g, it must be determined by gas chromatography. The glycerin replacement method and gas chromatography in this standard are applicable to manual arc welding, submerged arc welding and gas shielded welding. The mercury displacement method is only used for manual arc welding.
