Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the determination of the shear strength of plastics by means of compression piercing using a circular piercer. This standard applies to rigid thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics, including filled plastics and fiber-reinforced composites. This standard does not apply to foam plastics.
