Scope

This document describes a method for determining the mass fraction of each component in a bicomponent composite fiber using melt microscopy. This document applies to melt-identifiable two-component composite fibers and textile products whose appearance has not changed. Note: For samples that can be tested by both the chemical dissolution method and this method, the chemical dissolution method is preferred.
