Scope: This document specifies the general industrial single, double and triple mineral insulated metal sheath thermocouple cables (hereinafter referred to as "armoured thermocouple cables") and mineral insulated metal sheath thermocouples (hereinafter referred to as "armored thermocouple cables") installed thermocouple") requirements. This document is applicable to T, J, E, K, N base metal armored thermocouple cables and armored thermocouples. This document is applicable to new armored thermocouple cables and armored thermocouples delivered to users, not to products after they are put into use. This document does not cover requirements for external seals, terminals, connectors and other accessories. This document does not apply to precious metal sheathed thermocouple cables and sheathed thermocouples. The special requirements for the main circuits of nuclear power plants are specified by other standards.
