GB/T 39560.6-2020 Determination of certain substances in electrical and electronic products—Part 6: Polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in polymers by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) (English Version)
This part of GB/T39560 specifies a technical specification and two informative appendices for the determination of polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in polymers in electrical and electronic products. The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) test method is suitable for the determination of monobromo to decabromobiphenyl (PBB) and monobromo to decabromodiphenyl ether (PBDE). Appendix A and Appendix C are ion-attached mass spectrometry (IAMS)-direct injection probe (DIP) method and high-performance liquid chromatography-photodiode array or ultraviolet detector (HPLC-PDA/UV) method, respectively. These techniques can be used as rapid qualitative or semi-quantitative tests, but are limited by the amount and type of interfering or polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) compounds. The ion attachment mass spectrometry (IAMS) technique is limited to the determination of decabromobiphenyl and industrial mixtures of decabromodiphenyl ether, octabromodiphenyl ether and pentabromodiphenyl ether flame retardants. This method has not been evaluated for other PBBs or PBDEs. The HPLC technique is limited to the determination of decabromodiphenyl ether, octabromodiphenyl ether, decabromobiphenyl and octabromobiphenyl industrial flame retardant mixtures. This method has not been evaluated for other PBBs or PBDEs. This part has already dealt with high-impact polystyrene (PS) with a single PBDE content of 20 mg/kg~2 000 mg/kg and a total PBDE content of 1300 mg/kg~5000 mg/kg. -HI) and polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene blends (PC/ABS) were evaluated as described in Appendix F. The method is not specifically evaluated for other types of polymers, PBBs or other PBDE compounds or for concentrations outside the above ranges.
