- This document specifies the basic dimensional characteristics of piston pins with a nominal outer diameter of 8 mm to 100 mm for reciprocating internal combustion engines for road vehicles and other purposes. In some applications other than road vehicles, this document may be used with appropriate modifications upon agreement between the manufacturer and the customer. In addition, this document establishes nomenclature, classification of piston pin types and material descriptions in terms of mechanical properties, common characteristics and quality requirements. Application of this document may require a mutually agreed data agreement between the manufacturer and customer.
