- This standard is applicable to closed speed-increasing gearboxes for power transmission chains of horizontal-axis wind turbines with a rated power greater than 500 kW. This standard applies to wind turbine gearboxes installed onshore or offshore. This standard provides guidance for the load analysis of gear and gearbox components designed in wind turbines. The gear parts applicable to this standard include: a special wheel. This standard does not apply to gears, this standard is based on the evaluation of the use of rolling bearings. 2
