- Scope
- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, risk assessment procedures for ignition hazards, and documentation requirements for conducting risk assessments of ignition hazards of machines or components. This standard applies to the classification of protection levels of machines or components, as well as the design, manufacturing, use, maintenance, testing, inspection and machinery safety certification of machines or components. This standard does not apply to machines or components that have an explosive environment inside during normal operation and have no interface with the external explosive environment.
