Radiation protection instrumentation—Radon and radon decay product measuring instruments—Part 2：Specific requirements for 222Rn and 220Rn measuring instruments (English Version)

Scope: This document specifies the special requirements for instruments for measuring airborne 222Rn and 220Rn activity concentrations in outdoor, residential and workplace (including underground mines). This document applies to almost all types of electronic instruments based on single-point or continuous measurements. The activity concentration can be measured by pumping or diffusing air containing 222Rn and/or 220Rn into the sensitive volume of the detection cell or by sampling the air at a specific moment (transient sampling). Various types of instruments for measurement are specified in IEC61577-1. This document does not apply to instruments using activated carbon adsorption, electret or solid nuclear track detectors.
