Scope

This standard specifies the general method for the determination of trace water by Karl Fischer reagent. This standard applies to the determination of free water or crystal water in some solid and liquid organic reagents. This standard is not applicable to the determination of moisture in samples that can react with the main components of Karl Fischer reagent and generate water and samples that can reduce iodine or oxidize iodide.
