This standard specifies the methods for dithizone complexation, carbon tetrachloride extraction, and photometric determination of lead ions. This standard applies to the determination of trace lead ions in edible salt. The detection range is 0.1-1.0 μg/mL (calculated as Pb). Both this method and atomic absorption spectrophotometry can be used for the determination of lead ions in edible salt, and this method is an arbitration method.
