This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage and safety requirements for calcium cyanamide used in industry and agriculture. This standard applies to calcium cyanamide produced by the nitridation reaction of calcium carbide and nitrogen. This product is used industrially to make cyanide melt and dicyandiamide and other chemical raw materials; in agriculture it is used as an alkaline slow-acting nitrogen-containing fertilizer.
