Scope
Form: This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sand@ permanent mold@ and composite mold castings. Application: Primarily for components requiring high strength. Useful where upgrading of properties of AMS 4230 or AMS 4240 is required. Artificial aging may cause this material to be susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking. Casting@ machining@ finishing@ and assembly operations should be designed to minimize assembly and/or residual stresses.
