Scope
This standard specifies a gravimetric method for the determination of total suspended particulate matter in ambient air. This standard is applicable to the manual determination of the concentration of total suspended particulate matter in the ambient air using large-flow or medium-flow samplers, and is also applicable to the manual determination of the concentration of total suspended particulate matter in the air at unorganized emission monitoring points. When using a large-flow sampler and a ten-thousandth scale with a sampling volume of 1512 m3, the method detection limit is 7 μg/m3. When using a medium flow sampler and a 1/100,000 balance with a sampling volume of 144 m3, the method detection limit is 7 μg/m3.
