Scope
This part of GB/T 17037 specifies the mold (F-type GB/ISO mold) for injection molding rectangular plate-shaped specimens to obtain single-point and multi-point data. The minimum specimen size is ≥ 90 mm × 80 mm, and the preferred size It is 120 mm × 80 mm, and the preferred thickness is 2 mm. This size sample has been found to provide the most anisotropic properties with only slight sensitivity to injection rate. Using a two-cavity mold is preferred. For the design of plastic parts, this will provide upper and lower limits for tensile properties. Due to the effect of mold fill rate and part geometry on anisotropy, it is not appropriate to match the thickness of an injection molded specimen sheet to that of a given part. The study of material anisotropy is a method used to guide mold design rather than quality control. During thermoplastic injection molding, the flow of molten polymer can affect the orientation of similar fillers such as glass fibers or the orientation of polymer chains, which will lead to anisotropy of the material. In this section, the flow direction is defined as the direction from the gate to the far end of the mold cavity, and the transverse direction refers to the direction perpendicular to the flow direction. The F-type GB/ISO mold is not intended to replace the D-type mold for the preparation of samples for the determination of thermoplastic molding shrinkage. This section is applicable to the preparation of reproducible rectangular plate-shaped specimens by injection molding of thermoplastic materials.
