Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers. This standard applies to polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber filaments, not to non-polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers such as pitch-based and viscose-based carbon fibers.
