- Scope
- This part of GB/T 1687 specifies the method for measuring the temperature rise and fatigue resistance of vulcanized rubber in the constant-strain amplitude compression flex test. The flex testing machine described in this section is the Goodrich flex testing machine, but other equipment of comparable performance may be used. This section is applicable to predict the durability of rubber products (such as tires, rubber bearings, rubber bearings, V-belts and sheave insert rings, etc.) when subjected to dynamic flexion. However, due to the wide variation in the service conditions of rubber products, it cannot be assumed that there is a simple correlation between their service characteristics and the accelerated fatigue tests described in this standard. This section does not apply to vulcanized rubber with a hardness above 85 IRHD.
