- This standard specifies the structure, materials, coating application, quality inspection, marking, storage, loading, unloading and transportation of the inner coating of petroleum drill pipes. This standard applies to the inner coating of various types and specifications of drill pipes that comply with API Spec 5D. Internally coated drill pipes using this standard are recommended for use in drilling conditions where the temperature is not higher than 204°C and the pH value of the drilling fluid is not higher than 12.5.
