Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the ultrasonic detection requirements for defects mainly parallel and/or perpendicular to submerged arc welded (straight or spiral) steel pipe welds according to three different acceptance levels (see Tables 1 and 2). 1.2 This standard is applicable to the testing of steel pipes with a nominal outer diameter greater than or equal to 150mm.
