This standard specifies the o-phenanthrene colorimetric method for the determination of ferrous and ferric ions in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of ferrous and ferric ions in coal mine industrial water, domestic water, surface water and groundwater. When 25 mL of test water sample is taken, the concentration range of divalent iron ions and ferric ions measured is 0.25~8.00 mg/L. Diluting water samples can expand the measurement range.
