Scope
This standard specifies the general method for determining the location, size and defect assessment of defect locations, sizes and defect assessments using single-angle probe contact method ultrasonic flaw detection, as well as the quality classification method for detecting steel grid welded hollow spheres, sphere tube welds and steel pipe butt welds. This standard is applicable to welding hollow spheres, tube welds and steel pipe butt welds of ordinary carbon steel and low alloy steel with a base material thickness of 4mm~25mm, a ball diameter of not less than 120mm, and a pipe diameter of not less than 76mm.
