- Scope
- This standard specifies the manual ultrasonic flaw detection process and weld quality classification of ship butt and fillet welds. This standard is applicable to manual direct contact A-type pulse reflection ultrasonic flaw detection of full penetration welds of ferritic steel with a base metal thickness of 6 to 100 mm. This standard does not apply to cast steel and austenitic stainless steel welds, as well as electroslag welds without heat treatment; the outer diameter is less than 250 mm or the ratio of the inner and outer diameters is less than 0.8; simplified longitudinal welds; simplified (or pipe fittings) outer diameter Circumferential welds less than 200 mm; curved intersecting welds of various sizes.
