Scope
This document specifies general safety requirements for electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking that does not contain radioactive materials. Note: Radioactive substances are tested before entering the steel plant. This document deals with the major hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events associated with EAF listed in Table 1, when used in accordance with the conceived and manufacturer's intended conditions, also includes failures during foreseeable failures and misuse. This document specifies guidelines for integrating equipment and equipment into production processes. This document specifies the requirements for ensuring personnel safety during equipment design, transportation, assembly, commissioning, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. This document assumes that the equipment is operated and maintained by adequately trained personnel and that manual setup, adjustment and maintenance are part of normal use of the equipment. This document applies to the following equipment (see Table B.1 and Table B.2 of Appendix B, Figure C of Appendix C.
