- This standard specifies various inspection procedures, classification of defect signals, measurement and recording of defects, flaw detection reports, etc. for contact pulse reflection ultrasonic flaw detection of impeller forgings using the direct beam method. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic flaw detection of various types of impeller forgings in JB/T 1266 and JB/T 7028. Other wheel forgings can be used as a reference. As long as the ordering contract stipulates that the forgings should be ultrasonic inspected according to this method, this method should be used.
