- Scope
- This standard stipulates the cutting tools, test blanks, equipment, testing instruments, cutting conditions and life criteria involved in tap life testing. It also stipulates the life acceptance conditions for tap products. This standard is applicable to the life test and life acceptance of high-speed diamond machine taps and high-carbon steel or alloy tool steel hand taps. It can also be used as a reference for laboratory performance tests and comparative tests. This standard does not apply to the life test of coated taps.
