- This standard specifies the requirements for personnel, instruments, probes, and test blocks in ultrasonic flaw detection of welds of atmospheric steel oil tanks, as well as the operation methods of flaw detection and the quality assessment of flaw detection results. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic flaw detection of butt joints, lap joints and T-shaped welds of 4 to 32 mm thickness in atmospheric steel oil tanks. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic flaw detection of castings and austenitic stainless acid-resistant steel welds.
