Inhibition of activated sludge dehydrogenase activity measured by the TTC method (TTC = triphenyltetrazolium chloride) can be used to determine the inhibitory effect of - chemical substances and products (hereinafter referred to as »substances«) - industrial waste water or - other types of water against activated sludge from biological treatment plants. Reducing substances and strongly colored substances can interfere with the determination.
