Scope
The method's detection limit, sensitivity and optimal measurement range depend primarily on the instrument used. By direct measurement, the values listed in the following table (from 7.1) must be achievable. Detection limit Sensitivity Optimal measurement range mg/l mg/l mg/l 0.01 0.05 0.1-10 at the wavelength 279.5 nm The detection limit for water samples can be lowered by concentrating the manganese content during extraction. This method should also be used when analyzing samples with a high content of dissolved salts, e.g. seawater for the purpose of eliminating interferences. When determining manganese in water, DS 220 can also be used (photometric method).
