Scope
The standard specifies a scanning electron microscopy method for the qualitative detection of asbestos in technical products whose asbestos mass content is at least 1 %. The detection limit can be lowered for certain products by concentrating the sample (acid treatment, ashing). The method is also suitable for estimating the asbestos percentage of the technical product.
