Scope
This standard specifies a method for simulating the formation of deposits on intake valves of gasoline engines and the determination of the amount of deposits produced. This standard is applicable to the qualitative detection of whether automotive gasoline contains detergents. Qualitative testing of whether specific detergents containing amine type or polyether ammonia dispersants, polyether carrier agents, etc. are added to automotive gasoline can be carried out according to Appendix A.
