This standard specifies a method for determining the effective residual ink concentration (ERIC value) in pulp and paper - infrared reflectance measurement method. This standard is applicable to deinked pulp containing black residual ink, recycled pulp and machine-made paper produced from recycled pulp. This standard applies only if the opacity of the test specimen is less than 97.0% when irradiated with infrared light at a wavelength of 950 nm.
