This standard specifies the method for determining the rebound angle of a portable chain saw with a guide plate and saw chain (hereinafter referred to as the chain saw). This standard has proven to be an accurate measurement method for calculating the rebound angle and rebound energy when evaluating chain saws with an engine displacement not exceeding 80 cm. This standard does not apply to the evaluation of chain saws with engine displacements exceeding 80 cm. In addition, due to the structural size limitation of the rebound machine, the effective cutting length of the guide plate of the test chain saw must not exceed 63 cm.
