KS C IEC 61009-1:2014 Residual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection for household and similar uses(RCBOs) — Part 1: General rules
This standard applies to household appliances with a rated voltage of 440 V AC or less (rated frequency of 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 50/60 Hz), a rated current of 125 A or less, and a rated short-circuit capacity of 25 000 A (50 Hz or 60 Hz) or less. Applies to earth leakage circuit breakers (hereinafter referred to as RCBOs) independent of circuit voltage or dependent on circuit voltage, which have overcurrent protection devices for similar purposes. These devices are used indirectly when exposed conductive parts of the equipment are connected to a suitable earthing electrode. It is intended to protect people from contact and to protect wiring equipment in buildings and similar purposes from overcurrent. This device can also be used to provide protection against fire hazards due to the continuation of ground fault currents, without the operation of the overcurrent protective device. RCBOs with a rated sensitive current of less than 30 mA are also provided with means of protection against electric shock. It is used as a means of additional protection in case of failure. This standard provides functions for detecting leakage current, comparing the detected current with the sensitivity current, and opening the protected circuit when the leakage current exceeds the sensitivity current. It is applied to a device that performs the function of applying, energizing, and blocking overcurrent simultaneously and under specified conditions.
