Scope

This standard specifies the area index, intensity index, ridge index, northern boundary index and westward extending ridge point index for monitoring the northwest Pacific subtropical high pressure and their calculation methods. This standard is applicable to the monitoring and research of the northwest Pacific subtropical high on the 500 hPa weather map of the Northern Hemis here.
