This International Standard aims to specify the requirements and a method for determining the volatile content of biogenic solid fuels. It is intended for persons and organizations involved in the manufacture, planning, sale, installation or use of machines, equipment, tools and complete systems for biogenic solid fuels, and for all persons and organizations involved in the production, Purchasing, selling and recycling of biogenic solid fuels are included. The volatile content is determined as the mass loss minus the mass fraction of water loss when a biogenic solid fuel is subjected to partial pyrolysis under standardized conditions.
