Scope
This International Standard specifies requirements for the Geothermal Response Test (GRT). With the GRT, an in-situ determination of the thermal conductivity of the subsoil is carried out in water-saturated or non-water-saturated soil and rock using a geothermal probe inserted into a borehole. Liquid heat transfer media that are not subject to phase changes are used for this experiment. Thermal conductivity is an essential parameter for the dimensioning and design of heat storage and geothermal probe systems. In a geothermal reaction test, a certain heat energy is introduced into the subsoil via a geothermal probe (EWS) or extracted from a borehole, then the temperature reaction is measured. The temperature response depends on the thermal parameters of the subsoil and the material used to fill the borehole, e.g. B. on the thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of the borehole; Therefore, values for these essential parameters can be estimated or derived from the course of the temperature curve. This International Standard applies to geothermal probes that are inserted vertically or obliquely into the ground with a length of up to 400 m and a diameter of up to 200 mm.
