This standard specifies the analytical method for the determination of arsenic and mercury species in honey, bee pollen, royal jelly and their freeze-dried powders using atomic fluorescence method. This standard applies to inorganic arsenic (the sum of arsenite and arsenate), monomethylarsinic acid (MMA), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), inorganic mercury, Determination of Methylmercury and Ethylmercury. The method detection limits of this standard are: 2.0 μg/kg, 0.80 μg/kg and 0.10 μg/kg for inorganic mercury, methylmercury and ethylmercury respectively, and the detection limits for inorganic arsenic, monomethylarsinic acid and dimethylarsinic acid. is 10 μg/kg. The method quantitation limits of this standard: inorganic mercury, methylmercury and ethylmercury are 6.0 μg/kg, 2.40 μg/kg and 0.30 μg/kg respectively, inorganic arsenic, monomethylarsinic acid and dimethylarsinic acid are respectively 30 μg/kg.
