Scope

This standard specifies the selection, inspection and acceptance of flame arresters for delivery systems, gas recovery systems and gas venting systems for explosive gas mixtures of all explosion groups that comply with the Maximum Test Safety Gap (MESG). This standard applies to the design of new construction, expansion and reconstruction projects for petrochemical, coal chemical enterprises or petroleum depots.
