Scope: This standard specifies the method for the determination of the color fastness to dry cleaning of various textiles using tetrachloroethylene solvent. This standard does not apply to the evaluation of the durability of textile finishing, nor does it apply to the evaluation of the ability of the color of textiles to resist stain removal by dry cleaners. This test only includes the test method for color fastness to dry cleaning. If it is necessary to evaluate other aspects of textile dry cleaning, such as water spots, solvent spots, steam pressing, etc., other test methods are required. For some textile materials, the presence of washing liquid or water in the dry cleaning agent will change its color fastness to dry cleaning performance. This test requires the fabric to be carried out in a dry state, using a container without any moisture, and only using dry cleaning solvents for testing. If there is no further explanation, the color fastness to dry cleaning in this standard is the color fastness to dry cleaning in perchloroethylene solvent. However, other solvents can be used if desired.
