Scope
"Thermal sprayed layers can be metallic or ceramic. Their quality control is only possible to a limited extent using non-destructive testing methods. However, with metallographic examinations, the characteristic features of a sprayed layer such as thickness, microstructure (structure, porosity), bond to the base material and hardness can be reliably assessed.
