- This standard specifies the use of gas chromatography to determine the purity and hydrocarbon impurity content of petroleum paraxylene. This standard is applicable to the determination of petroleum paraxylene with a purity of not less than 99.0% (mass fraction). For non-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene, o-xylene, cumene, p-diethylbenzene and other hydrocarbons The detection limit of impurities is 0.001% (mass fraction).
