- This standard specifies the use of gas chromatography to determine the purity and hydrocarbon impurity content of petroleum o-xylene. This standard is applicable to the determination of petroleum o-xylene with a purity of not less than 90.0% (mass fraction). This section is applicable to non-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene, p-xylene, cumene, n-propylbenzene, The detection range of hydrocarbon impurities such as styrene, trimethylbenzene, methylethylbenzene, and p-diethylbenzene is (0.001~3.5)% (mass fraction).
