- This standard specifies the method and test conditions for the determination of the molecular weight and distribution of polymeric water treatment agents by gel filtration chromatography (GFC). This standard is applicable to the determination of the relative average Molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. This standard is applicable to the determination of polymer water treatment agents with a molecular weight distribution in the range of 100 to 30,000. This standard does not apply to water-soluble polymers that react, absorb, adsorb, etc. interact with mobile phases and separation materials.
