This International Standard specifies acceptance limits for indications of irregularities in ferromagnetic steel welds detected by magnetic particle testing. The admissibility limits are mainly intended for operational testing. NOTE They can also be used for investigations during operation. The acceptability limits in this International Standard are based on the detectability that can be expected using the techniques of ISO 17638 and the test parameters recommended in Annex A. The acceptance limits according to this standard may relate to welding standards, application standards, specifications or codes. Such a relationship is shown in ISO 17635 for ISO 5817. Acceptance limits for aggregated displays are not covered by this International Standard.
