This International Standard describes three methods for determining the dry bulk density of soil, calculated from the mass and volume of a soil sample. These three methods involve drying and weighing a soil sample whose volume is either known (sampling cylinder method, see 4.1) or needs to be determined (excavation method, see 4.2, and lump method, see 4.3).
