Scope
This standard specifies the principles and requirements for integrated risk management for a space project; it explains what is required of each project participant at all levels (i.e. the customers, suppliers or subcontractors at the first level or the suppliers at the lower level) in order to implement a project-integrated risk management policy. This standard provides a summary of all elements of the risk management process, divided into four (4) steps and nine (9) tasks. The risk management process requires the exchange of information between all project areas and provides an overview of the risks that are classified according to their criticality to the project; These risks must be monitored and managed according to the rules established for the respective area. The scope of this standard extends to all activities in all phases of space projects. A definition of project phases can be found in ECSS-M-ST-10. This standard may be designed for the specific characteristics and specifications of a space project according to ECSS-M-ST-00.
